Strays Halfway House 2009 Holiday Party
On November 22nd, Strays HH gave thanks to foster homes and supporters, and had a grand ole celebration ending another wonderful year for our rescued animals. Yes we were not able to adopt out as many animals as in past years, but we did save and adopt out more than we expected in these bad economic times. We owe our success to our loyal financial supporters, many who have been with us since the very beginning in 1981. We owe our success to the volunteers that help when help is needed, and the foster parents that open not only their homes but also their hearts to give these animals the second chance that they all so much deserve.
The party was really rocking and rolling with DJ's Don and Brian Esposito and especially for one attendee, Ms. Kafner of Schaumburg, who couldn't believe it when her raffle ticket was pulled for the 1st prize of $1000. There was line dancing, a surprise serenade by Ron Lipowski singing a Johnny Cash tune, and Ken Aaland karaoking.
Great food from Villa Olivia and a huge thank you to all for the many donated auction items. We would like to thank all that attended, we hope to see you at the next party and bring a new friend with you!
