Stanley Gives Back
The Stanley Works Company started a fundraiser
called Stanley Gives Back, a year-long
competitive charity event which involved each
branch and division of Stanley worldwide. The
objective is to support and encourage our
surrounding communities through the combination of
fundraising events, volunteer charity work,
donation collection and community outreach. Through
it all, we remember our gifts, and realize that
giving back to those less fortunate, in a fun way,
will also build our own community at work. At
the end of the year Stanley tallies up all the
volunteer hours and monetary donations and the
winners in specific categories will receive a check
from Stanley to donate to whatever charity we
desire. The categories were: most money raised,
most volunteer hours donated and most unique
charity event. Our branch won for the most
volunteer hours and actually came in 3rd for the
most money raised.
Our branch volunteered a total of 1202.50 hours of time in 2008. Over 900 hours came from myself, Cheryl Ferguson, for fostering cats & kittens, making fleece blankets, and selling T-Shirts and tote bags. Our branch won $5,000.00, of which Strays HH received a check for $3,000.00 to help them in their endless mission of rescuing stray and abandoned animals.
